You may be hearing from your friends, or even reading from several skin care reviews that you should apply sunscreen whenever you’re going outdoors. However, do you know WHY you should?
There are a lot of reasons why you’re supposed to apply sunscreen. One of which is that it is one of the best anti-aging regimens. One of which is to decrease the appearance of wrinkles on your face. Sun damage is one of the reasons why your skin changes. Another reason on why you’re supposed to wear sunscdreen is that it has been thought that it causes cancer. Though there has not been much proofon this, it is best that you still prevent skin damage by applying sunscreen.
Bottom line is: wear sunscreen to keep you healthy. Too much sun exposure can be bad to your immune system.
Here are some things that you should know about sunscreens:
- You need to apply sunscreen more than the amount of what you think is enough. If you’re having a summer vacation, and you’ve been under the sun for at least 6 hours, make sure you reapply sunscreen twice.
- Don’t neglect putting on a protection on your head. Your scalp is the most common place for skin cancer. There are hair sun protectors out in the market, don’t worry about your hair being greasy because a lotion is much more greasier.
- Don’t rely on waterproof sunscreen. This ones only protect 40-80 minutes only. You should still reapply every once in a while.
- SPF 50 and above doesn’t really have any difference. It is best advised to use SPF30 sunscreens that contains zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, mexoryl or avobenzone for maximum protection.
